Supportability engineering

Supportability engineering is essential to ensuring the long-term performance, reliability and readiness of some of the UK’s most complex and mission-critical assets

As a supportability engineer, you’ll play a key role in sustaining the operational effectiveness of warships, submarines, and civil nuclear systems — helping to keep them safe, efficient and available.

You’ll work at the intersection of engineering and logistics, applying your expertise in maintenance planning, lifecycle costing, reliability analysis and integrated logistics support. Your insights will directly influence how systems are designed, maintained, and supported — reducing downtime, optimising performance, and delivering value across the asset lifecycle.

Most of our supportability engineering roles are based in Plymouth and Bristol, where we support the Royal Navy’s surface fleet and submarine programmes. You’ll also find opportunities in our civil nuclear business, where the same principles of reliability and maintainability are applied to critical infrastructure. With roles available at all levels from entry level through to subject matter experts you’ll be part of a team that values precision, foresight and real-world impact.
